A Windy Evening so long ago now

...didn't stop this lovely family from a beach session in July. Kerry & Don and their two adorable children were visiting from PA for a week. Kerry's mom, Barbara, met me at a Canal Chamber of Commerce event and mentioned to me that she'd love to have portraits of her grandchildren when they came home. I was so happy to get her call and work with her! So, after one reschedule we met despite a really windy evening and had a great session. I'm always happy when Mom & Dad want to be in the portrait too. So many times parents think, oh, when I lose 10 pounds, have a better haircut, find the perfect..., but really there's no time like right now. Those babies grow up so fast!

Barbara knew exactly what outfits she wanted for her grandchildren. Aren't they adorable? They were so perfect for the beach. Laura had the sweetest personality - it took a little bit of warming up and some help from her silly Dad to get some smiles but it was worth the wait.
And, 8 month old Matthew just wanted to hold the sand! He was so cute and didn't move an inch once you set him down.
The two kids together is always a favorite to capture. Laura's mischievous hand (see that shell) is about to dump that sand, unbeknowst to Matthew, on his cute little head. Uh Oh!

And finally the wind was blowing so fiercely that Laura had to keep pushing her hair out of her sweet face and just at that moment, there was this moment. An adorable little girl walking on the beach.
