Pretty Smart

Lindsey from Taunton High recently came to the studio and wanted to be photographed inside and outdoors. So, we started inside with a chair and a background. She brought a few different shirts, gorgeous eyes, a beautiful smile and a great attitude!

I love this one leaning on the chair, she really had a natural way about her and again, her eyes are just gorgeous!

Although I usually prefer solid colors, Lindsey brought this striped shirt and I was all for trying something a little different. In looking at images for this blog I thought I'd use this image and played around a bit in photoshop with a cool brush and decorated the background with the color from her shirt. I think it's kinda cool! When Lindsey and her Mom were here for the ordering presentation, they didn't see it this way so hopefully they'll like it too.

After an hour or so, we headed outside, to the beach of course for another lovely evening. Lindsey is a dancer, a very accomplished one, busy almost every night with classes. She's also in some AP classes in school. Her Mom was so proud of her and shared that although she is really busy with dance she ranks number 14 out of 500 kids - WOW, now that's a great accomplishment! Good Girl! Senior year can be challenging with homework, college searches, SAT's, and all the extra curricular activities that fill each day.

This image is one of my favorites. I love the tilt of her head as she was leaning on this branch.

Again, backlighting is always pretty. The leaves vignette a bit in the front and her hair sparkles with the sunlight.

Lindsey, I hope you enjoyed the session. I know, I did! Thanks to you and your mom for coming to the studio for the ordering presentation. I can't wait for you to have your portraits.

I also hope you're proud of yourself for the accomplishments you've made this year. All that hard work definitely pays off. Not only are you pretty smart but you were so pretty to photograph too. Good luck with the rest of your senior year.

A Little Fire Chief

with the best smile and most beautiful eyes came to visit recently. Shayne was in the studio to have his 2 year old portrait made, although he's now 2 1/2. He rode in on his fire engine and brought his little dalmation puppy too. He was such a good boy and quite a handsome Fire Chief, don't ya think?

Mom brought in several outfits (as Fire Chiefs must change their clothes) and I was happy to photograph him in this too as he looked like a big boy in that green vest. I just love his toes!

After an hour or so in the studio playing, laughing and having fun we decided to venture outside for a bit but not after I captured this thoughtful moment of Shayne just inside the door. I love the sweet look on his face - here is the original

and then this with a touch of color in his adorable hat and vest. His Mom loved this one!

And finally, in the yard although it was chilly there were leaves leftover from the fall that needed ruffling so Shayne was eager to oblige. They framed his face perfectly.

And that's how our session was - just perfect! Thanks, Erin and Shayne for a great session. It is a pleasure watching your sweet baby boy grow.

Little Munchkin - Sneak Peek

Ian and his Momma and Daddy came to see me on Saturday for their first photo session. Mostly for black and white and baby in no clothes but he came in wearing this adorable hat and sweater and I just couldn't let them leave without a few more images. Oh my goodness, he was the cutest and happiest baby boy! It was a little love fest right away as he won me over in the driveway before we had even settled in to the first click of the camera. He smiled and laughed and drooled - it was such fun. Don't you just love his little baby feet???
Don't be fooled by how big he is, he's only 5 months old but his Daddy's arms (and Mom's too) were getting tired. I had them hold him alot! Ian and his proud, handsome Dad were great in front of the camera. I think the baby looks alot like his Daddy. His Mom was great in front of the camera too! We spent about an hour and a half with all sorts of poses. Ian even took a break to eat and then, of course, a little nap so we were able to capture some beautiful images of him sleeping. All that modeling does make one a bit sleepy. I love this image - the way Mom is snuggled right up to her beautiful baby boy and those amazing eyes - on both of them. Thanks to Ian and his Mom & Dad for a great session. (Shout out to both parents, you'll have to wait till the 20th to see the rest.) Ohhh, I'm so excited...

Dawn & Deignan

Mom, Dawn and her new baby boy, Deignan visited recently. (Dawn's other baby boy, high school senior Vernon is going to have his senior portraits done too!) Dawn was referred by one of my wonderful clients, Daralyn, and decided to have maternity portraits done.

About 2 weeks after she gave birth, Deignan was in the studio for his first portraits! Oh my goodness, he was so adorable and such a little baby! He was so good and didn't mind posing at all.

I love his little toes curled into each other and the way he's trying to look at his Mom.

Babies are the sweetest thing! Thanks for a wonderful session Dawn!

The Sweetest Family

Awhile ago I posted a sneak peek of Jenn & Jonathan but now have a few more that must be shown. I have had the pleasure of photographing this family three times now and they are all adorable! Ryan was about 9 months old when we first met. Now he is the 4 year old big brother to Jonathan, born in April of this year. He is so loving and protective of his baby bro.

Look how much Dad, Mike, adores his new baby boy. His soft skin and baby smell - just makes you want to cuddle all day.

And Mom, Jenn, has found out that she has more than enough love for both of her adorable boys.

Jonathan was a delight to photograph (he takes after his big brother) and is quite content to stay in the secure comfort of his daddy's arms.

Thanks again for the pleasure of seeing you all and for the privilege of photographing such precious moments with your growing family. Will see you soon! Much baby love, susan

One Sneak Peek

...for you, Jenn! I can't wait for you to see these portraits of your gorgeous family. Jonathan is adorable and makes a great addition to you, Mike & Ryan. I could feel the love in your heart that you have for your 2 beautiful boys. Thank you for having trust in me to photograph you and your family these past few years. See you soon!

Mia Moo & Theo Too!

As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, we had company over the Fourth of July week, dear friends visiting from Lawrenceville, NJ. We had alot of fun with 2 kids and all but the best part for me was photographing these 2 adorable children! Mia Moo as she's known (I think, courtesy of Uncle Broken & Lisa Loo) was spunky, spirited, smart and just so darn cute. She was a natural poser, Supergirl shirt and all. I think there's a Supergirl in all of us girls and she was proud to show her stuff. She was going to a wedding that upcoming Saturday and I loved her dress - so she had to wear it. I love the antiqued image but couldn't resist her funny face image! She is so darling and such fun to photograph. Theo is about 7 months old and was the best baby I've ever met. He was always happy and rarely fussed. If you didn't see him in the room you wouldn't have known he was there. I love his great smile and gorgeous eyes. It was so great to have them in our home filling it up with giggles and laughter. Thanks Mia & Theo for a terrific session and for allowing us to just have fun that week. And a big thanks to Anne & Vince for sharing your adorable children with us. We can't wait to see you again. Lots of love!

More Twins

I truly have the best job in the world! I get to spend my time with beautiful children, playing. I feel truly blessed to capture such precious moments of these adorable little ones.

Meet Christopher and Shane along with their big sister, Kyle. I first photographed Kyle when she was only 5 months old, she'll soon be 3. (I photographed her gorgeous Mom, Daralyn while she was pregnant with Kyle.) Seems like so long ago now! They came to visit in April at almost 7 months old. Kyle is a protective big sister. It was clear she loves her brothers.
Daralyn was here on Monday for her viewing and ordering presentation - she loved the images. Some of her favorites photos were the ones that showed their tiny bums, babies have the cutest bums!

Sadie & Josie

Well, I've had the pleasure of photographing Sadie a few times now. Our first session was when she was about 9 months old or so. She is the sweetest, most inquisitive darling redhead I know! Now she is big sister to Miss Josie. They came to visit me in the studio a few months ago, which started out fine but Josie really wasn't feeling too well. We photographed for awhile, Josie alone in her antique christening gown, with Sadie and Sadie alone. (Sadie was photographed in the gown when she was that young too.) The gown has been in her Dad's family for awhile - I even think he wore it as well. The day of the session, Lauren (their Mom) brought this old beautiful photo album that she found of a young girl. The sepia images were gorgeous, it really was an antique - I loved it, so the one of Josie in her christening outfit is a bit reminiscent of days gone by. The session was done a bit before Easter and Lauren brought Easter dresses but since Josie didn't feel well we didn't get to take photos of the girls in them. But, I knew I wanted to go to Spohr Gardens with the girls when the daffodils were in bloom. So, we did and Josie was feeling so much better. We had a great time as it was a gorgeous morning. These are a few images from both sessions. And one of Sadie from our session of 2005 when she was just a pretty little baby. I love baby girls! Ok....all babies!

Twins

Can you do this?

Brianna came today to pick up her order! I could not wait for her to see these precious portraits. I photographed her 8 month old twin girls here in the studio back in February. Oh my gosh - they are the cutest little lovebugs! Our plan was to photograph Brianna while she was pregnant last June but the girls decided otherwise, they wanted to be born and we didn't get the chance! But, we had lots of fun photographing her sweet girls. Babies change so much in the first year - here's just a glimpse of these beautiful babies and their one and only moments.
