As I mentioned in my first post, I attended the Professional Photographers of Massachusetts convention held at the end of February. There was lots of information from wonderful speakers along with a print competition. I am thrilled that I received 2 blue ribbons! There were 252 print entries, of which only 49 blue ribbons were given. Prints were judged by a panel of 6 photographer judges.
The first image is of my nephew and was taken in Pittsburg. He is such a sweet boy - although I can't be objective! It is titled "A Door Yet Unopened".
The other image holds a special place in my heart and is titled "Summer Innocence" - these 2 children were such great fun to photograph, well-mannered, inquisitive, talkative and such a joy to work with. (Sidenote -I was hired by friends of this family to photograph the Mom and Dad and 2 kids. Mom was sick, dying actually and wanted to leave her children with wonderful memories of this special time together. They frequented this beach for several years - they were from Connecticut. I photographed them all at the house they stayed at and then headed to the beach. There were many photos done of the family together, some with just Mom and the kids, some with just Mom and Dad. This image was near the end of the session. I was honored to capture such loving moments. They were an amazing family and I will never forget them. The beach is First Encounter Beach in Eastham - a wonderful beach that has great sandbars at low tide.)
The convention was a fun weekend with friends filled with tons of stuff to put into action this coming season.
