and we are excited! "Come on up for the Rising" And come on up they did - on Saturday, some of our dearest friends (and my Mom) from NY, NJ, NH & Boston celebrated an early inauguration party with us as we believe there is much to celebrate - the beginning of a new day filled with hope, opportunity and inspiration from a man we believe in. There was great food thanks to http://www.shipyardgalley.com/ in Mattapoisett, perfect drinks thanks to Anne making her Obamapolitans, lots of engaging political conversation from some very smart people, easy laughter and even some guitar hero. Yep, my first try at guitar hero on the beginner level - I need practice! These are friends that we don't see often but mean the world to us and we have been planning this day ever since Obama was elected. Thanks so much, gang for spending the weekend with us. We enjoyed every minute and will forever remember this perfect one and only moment! We love you guys!!!

It really was a great night with an awesome group of people. There was such good will, joy, laughter, and a connection between us. I sit here now watching the inauguration moved more than I ever have for a President. I don't know what the coming years will bring but I do know that at this moment there is such a feeling of great possibility - and this feeling is deep also knowing that millions share it.
