It's Here....Avon Walk Weekend

Wow, somehow you never think it's going to get here and then the next thing ya know, wham, it's here. This is the weekend that I've been training for these last few months, walking - lots & lots of walking. This is the weekend that I've been raising money for these last few months, lots & lots of money! I was committed to raise $1800 (have to if you want to walk), which I did and thought let's see how much more I can raise. Well, I've raised $3300 thanks to all of you, my dearest supporters from friends, family and my devoted clients. THANK YOU. (Between myself & my hubby who's walking too, we've raised over $9!) If you haven't donated and would like to, there's still time over the weekend - any amount - $5, $10, $25, $100, $250 - any amount is better than zero! Visit my Avon page to make a donation and double your dollars if you'd like a portrait session. Any amount donated will be applied as a credit to your account - wow, free money!

A very special card arrived in yesterday's mail from my dear friend, Lesa! She is one of the women who has inspired me to walk and raise money for this cause. She is a talented crafter and makes her own cards and sends them, free of charge, to people, women, who are battling breast cancer. She is a survivor, a strong woman and I admire her will and her desire to give back to others. She says it best - "Throughout the the darkest time of my life I looked forward to going to my mailbox to see if I had any little envelopes of love waiting for me. Each card I received, that was lovingly handmade just for me, kept me afloat. Made me smile. For however brief, the moments I felt buoyed, encouraged and loved were priceless. They were my little life preservers. So came the name of this site. "

And she's making some tile jewelry which I will be wearing all weekend in honor of her! Thank you, Lesa for your encouragement and thoughtfulness. I'll be thinking of you.

Well, dear readers, I'm off to walk for 2 days as one, with thousands, looking forward to a weekend full of love and inspiration raising money for research, a cure and for funds for women in treatment. The sun will be shining, I just know it!
