I Love New York

Last week, I had the pleasure of accompanying my hard-working hubby to NYC on business. While he was working I of course was out walking and photographing, just for the fun of it. Although there is great architecture in the city, I am drawn to the people, all kinds of people. We stayed in the financial district near the water and I spent the better part of the day walking the waterfront and the Wall Street area, people watching. There are so many people in NYC!
Here are a few of my favorite images - from the ILNY t-shirts to the guy and 2 dogs in the Red Sox shirt (he was a brave soul! - don't you just love how the dogs are looking opposite ways?), to the camera crew filming, to the bike riders.

There were the dog walkers, chess players, knitters (the lady with the orange bag), ladies with great hats and little boys trying to figure out what to do on the big foot! It was such a lovely day. That night eleven of us met for dinner at this awesome restaurant, Alta. They are known for their small plates, tapas style and the food was delicious! One of the hits of the table was, you'll never believe it, brussel sprouts! OMG, to die for!! It was a fun, fabulous night. Wednesday, up bright and early, six of us (our friends from Ireland and 2 transplanted New Yorkers, a brother of our Irish friend and his wife) started our day in Greenwich Village, eating a light breakfast and drinking yummy coffee as we were embarking on a 3 hour food and walking tour of the village. Tony & I did it 2 years ago and loved it. We thought it'd be a great way to show off the sights and eat some more food! NY is all about the food, isn't it? Our guide, Curt was experienced, knowledgeable and very funny. If you're in NYC don't miss this tour. There's always so much to do in the city and never enough time. Every time we visit, I see something new, never tire of it and feel so energized! But, we departed on Thursday happy to have shared these one and only moments with our friends, who we don't get to see as often as we'd like. Thanks dear friends for a lovely visit. See you again soon.
Hum along now, I love New York!
