After the wild weather yesterday, today is a gorgeous day! (As I was walking early one morning I saw this sand castle alone on the beach. Someone took the time and had the talent to create this beauty. I snapped this image with my cell phone so the quality is not as I would like it to be but I couldn't resist.)
While many of us will be out and about enjoying out Saturday doing fun things, about 3000 people will be riding in the Pan Mass Challenge this weekend. The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge is an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for life saving cancer research and treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC has contributed more than $239 million, which finances research in its earliest stages. Again, this year I have 2 friends riding in the long one day ride from Sturbridge to Bourne. Iwish them much success in their ride and continued efforts to raise money. Although it is a beautiful day for a bike ride (may in fact be too hot and sunny) it will be no day at the beach for these dedicated riders. But they will perservere in their efforts to bring awareness and raise money for this dreaded disease.
